The Durham Black Educators Network (DBEN) is a Black-led, community-rooted not-for-profit organization committed to optimizing the educational experiences and outcomes of students, staff, and families of the Black Diaspora within the Durham District School Board (DDSB).
For over two decades, we have worked alongside educators, students, families, community organizations, and allies to remove barriers, cultivate leadership, celebrate Black excellence, and create opportunities where every member of our community can thrive.
We believe that when Black students are affirmed, supported, and empowered, entire communities flourish.

For more than two decades, the Durham Black Educators Network has been working alongside students, families, educators, and community partners to create pathways for Black excellence as they transform vision into action throughout Durham Region.
As our community continues to grow, so does our commitment to creating educational environments where Black students can dream boldly, lead confidently, and achieve without limits.
Together with students, families, educators, partners, and allies, we are cultivating courageous change, inspiring future leaders, and ensuring that every generation has greater opportunities than the one before it.
